The new '10 of Something’ opportunity 2026

Following the success of last year’s “10 of Something’ sharings, we are excited to open our studio to other artists who want to explore an idea they have firing up their imaginations. 

Do you have a performance idea you would like to develop, but are lacking space and technical resources?
Are you stopped by the scope and scale of creating a full-length work… but have a compelling idea for presenting “10 minutes of something”.
Do you have an existing work that could use some further development; perhaps investigating a different way of telling your story?

What Artists Receive

During a 2 week rehearsal period (see available dates below), you will receive . . .

• Up to a total of 30 hours of time in the studio (Monday- Saturday. Exact days/hours TBNegotiated)
  
• Guided use of the technical equipment (lighting, sound, projections).
• William’s tech/design support (up to 4 hours, more TBN)
• Gwenyth’s outside eye/dramaturgy support (up to 4 hours, more TBN)
• A '10 of Something' sharing for up to 14 invited guests (we provide Front of House and Administrative support)
• Followed by a reception (we provide refreshments)

              Note: This residency does NOT include accommodation 

What we need from you

• Completion of the application form below
• Once we've accepted your project, a completed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
• Mutual respect with Woodland Farm’s lands and facilities.
• Mutual respect with all members of the Woodland Farm team and Salt Spring Island community members.

Artists Fees for "10 of Something"

• $470 * to be paid upon acceptance of your residency

*$100 bursaries are available for emerging artists and those in financial need.
