Flight Sim SSI
About me: I am recently retired from academia and decided to return to the world of aviation (virtually). I flew commercially 30 years ago, and loved the challenge. Circumstances pulled me on to a different career path, but I am thrilled to be returning the world of aviation, especially the amazing advancements in technology. Of course, the laws of aerodynamics remain the same, and we break them at our peril.
And that is the wonder of sim flying. You can make a fatal mistake and live to tell about it.
About the equipment: Honeycomb Alpha Flight Controls Yoke with Honeycomb Aeronautical Bravo Throttle Quadrant, and Thrustmaster TPR rudder pedals. The visuals are provided by three 32" monitors for an amazing immersive experience. The sim software is running on a Mac Studio Max. All this provides a satisfying and realistic flight experience.
About you: You were a pilot in the past and like me, you'd like to re-enter the world of aviation (w/o the exorbitant cost). Or, you are a current pilot who would like to practice your flight into IMC conditions, including ILS/RNAV or non-precision approaches. Or, you have always wondered what it would be like to fly and would like to experience it in a non-stressful environment.
WHAT IT IS NOT: I am not a certified flight-instructor. Nor is the flight sim certified. I am not offering flight training. You would be renting the flight sim, and I would be guiding you on how to use the flight sim.
REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT: I AM NOT OFFERING FLIGHT INSTRUCTION . . . but rather offering you a chance to hone your skills or experience flying in a relaxed, relatively inexpensive way.

- Subsequent flights $50/hr (or a pre-paid package of 5 hours for $200)
